HAK-Ghana RC Cover Page-s The 2014 Active Healthy Kids Ghana Report Card on Physical Activity for Children and Youth

In its first year, the Ghana Report Card on Physical Activity for Children and Youth provides a baseline assessment of how we are doing as a country in  promoting and facilitating physical activity opportunities among children and youth.
Key Findings from the 2014 Ghana Report Card include:
– 12-34%  of youth are meeting physical activity guidelines in reference to the international PA questionnaire analysis guidelines and general public health                         recommendations for PA.
– 21% of in-school adolescents are sedentary, which does not include sitting-time in school.
– Syllabi for physical education exist but there are no policies guiding their implementation.
