Welcome to the Exercise Medicine Ghana® page in the Virtual Active Lifestyle & Wellness Association of Ghana (ALWAG) web. Exercise Medicine Ghana® is an initiative coordinated by the Ghana Physical Education and Sports Thinktank (GPEStt) that aims to extend the Regenerative Health and Nutrition Program’s (RHNP) “Exercise Is Medicine” pillar.

The EMG-GPEStt Affiliation:
The EMG-GPEStt affiliation is unique and progressive, and similar to the American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM)-EIM Global affiliation. Both GPEStt-EMG and ACSM-EIM recognizes the benefits of physical activity and places “Exercise” at the center of healthcare and education.

EMG in collaboration with GPEStt, conduct conferences, workshops, seminars, and training sessions for professional enrichment. Both GPEStt and EMG provide strong representation on legislative issues. Members are instrumental on advocacy issues such as equal opportunity, PWD sensitivity, gender equity, licensing certification, development of standards, and quality control.

Campus Chapter:
If you are a physical activity teacher, an exercise science, health studies or administration, or health care professional student or faculty member with an interest in starting an Exercise is Medicine group at your university, please contact us at the phone numbers listed below.

Few interested student champions from universities in Ghana have already expressed interest.  Exercise Medicine Ghana will explore ways to facilitate groups across the country to share ideas and successes.
